AbouT Jen
Hello! I’m Jen of birdhive creative, an artist and surface pattern designer working in lovely coastal Maine. I dream and draw in a tiny, cozy 1/4 house circled by blooms and evergreens and steps from the ocean, just a few nostalgic miles from my childhood home.
As well as an artist and creative maker, in no particular order, I’m a mom, an avid reader/armchair traveler, and trying to figure out what’s for dinner.
A heavenly day near the ocean combines antiques and oddities, color and paint, peeper frog songs (!), flowers, dark chocolate, hugs, and optimism.
In and out of the hive…
I love getting absorbed in making/doing ~ everything cross-pollinates and feeds the next idea! Currently I’m creating new winter holiday collections as well as a huge, super exciting new project which can’t be disclosed yet. Some glimpses are coming to replace my (admittedly sad) gridded homepage and I can’t wait to make it all happen.
On the personal end of things, fall means adjusting to the end of daylight savings with some altered routines, artmaking practices, and play ~ it’s even scheduled ~ alongside the ever growing “to-do” list. :)
Are you looking ahead to the darkness of winter (northeast U.S. perspective here) with dread? Over here in the ‘hive, we flip it, and turn the shortest days into opportunities to get cozy, the theme of our latest winter collection. Care to share what you do to make it a cozy winter?
Winter Well! Warmly,
Jen
